filtec meets OMAC / Weihenstephan Protocols
OMAC - Organization for Machine Automation and Control — is the global organization for automation and manufacturing professionals that is dedicated to supporting the machine automation and operational needs of manufacturing.
The idea behind OMAC is to make the communication easier between different machines in the filling line by standardizing the interfaces and information exchange and data protocols.
The Weihenstephan protocol was developed to facilitate easy integration of a production data acquisition system (PDA) for filling systems in the bottling industry. The protocol defines the data content and the interface from the machine to the plant system. This enables machines to be incorporated with the PDA without expensive programming.
The modular design of the filtec machines allows the easy installation of a communications server to handle the signal exchange according to the OMAC / Weihenstephan standard, as well as allowing any existing machine to be upgraded. |
